PROJECT OVERVIEW
When the clients first purchased this property, they immediately saw its potential, but it was clear the house needed a complete transformation to support their growing family.
The property felt tired, dated and disconnected,
with limited usable living space and an external
appearance that reflected years of neglect. The
house required significant refurbishment both
internally and externally to bring it back to life.
With a clear vision for their future home, the
clients began searching for the right builder who could not only carry out the work but also guide them through such a large and important project. They wanted a team they could trust to deliver quality craftsmanship, manage the complexity of a full renovation and help bring their ideas to life.
The project would involve a full refurbishment of the property including, a side extension to open up the ground floor and a double dormer loft conversion to add rooms in the un-used loft space. The aim was to create a bright, welcoming and practical family home that would grow with them for years to come.
DURING THE BUILD
Throughout the project, collaboration with the clients remained central. Regular communication allowed decisions to evolve naturally while ensuring their original vision stayed at the heart of the build.
As the design developed, the layout was carefully adapted to create a more open,
connected ground floor living space that would better support family life. Achieving this required thoughtful planning and close coordination between ourselves, building control, the architects and structural engineers. By working as one team, we were able to safely open up the existing structure while maintaining the integrity and performance of the building.
The project was delivered through a highly considered, step-by-step approach, balancing
design ambition with practical construction solutions. This collaborative process ensured
challenges were resolved early, decisions were made with confidence and the final design
was delivered exactly as intended.
THE RESULT
The finished home is almost unrecognisable from the property the clients first purchased. Once neglected and underused, it has been transformed into a bright, spacious and welcoming family home.
The new extension forms the heart of the property, creating an open-plan kitchen, dining and living space filled
with natural light and designed for everyday family life. Upstairs, the redesigned layout provides comfortable bedrooms, while the loft conversion adds valuable flexible space for the future. The new front driveway enhances both practicality and kerb appeal, creating a welcoming sense of arrival, while the garden was thoughtfully landscaped to provide a safe and enjoyable space for the children to play.
Most importantly, the project delivered more than just extra space.
It created a home designed around the clients’ lifestyle. Thoughtfully planned, carefully built and ready to support the next chapter of their family life.
